JosephSIMIt is with great sadness that the family of Joe announce his peaceful passing at the Royal Derby Hospital on Tuesday 4th August 2026, aged 86.

Beloved husband of Julia, a much loved father to Nikki, Robyn and Janine, a treasured father-in-law to Mark, Angus and Joe, and a loving Gpa Joe to Henry, Hugh, Fraser, Isla, Elsie and Evan.

Joe was the twin brother of John, older brother to Bevan and Stewart, a dear brother-in-law to Anne, Rozzi and Megan, and a much loved uncle.

Joe dedicated many years of service to the NHS, where he touched the lives of countless people. A great friend to many, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private family funeral service will take place on Monday, 17th August 2026, at 2.00 pm.

Following the service, all who knew Joe are warmly invited to the Wake to celebrate Joe's life at The Grange, 457 Burton Road, Littleover, Derby DE23 6XX.

Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, may be made in Joe's memory to the Alzheimer's Society and the Air Ambulance.

There really aren’t enough words in this space to express my respect for Joe and all that he did, not just for the Trust, but for the people around him.

I had the privilege of working alongside Joe and supporting him in his role as Energy Monitor. His knowledge, wisdom and kindness, both in work and in life, made a real impression on me, and will always be a little part of me.

What a blessing it was to have Joe as a work colleague, but more importantly, as a friend.

Sending love, strength and positive energy to all of Joe’s family.

Joe will be greatly missed and never forgotten. ❤️
